Honor MagicWatch 2 with 15 fitness modes, launching in India on Dec 12

Honor has recently unveiled its latest smartwatch, Honor MagicWatch 2 at an event in China. The MagicWatch 2 smartwatch is made of 316L stainless steel and is available in two dial sizes- 42mm with a 1.2-inch AMOLED display and 46mm with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display and weighing 29g and 41g respectively. Both the dial models are available in four colour options and interchangeable straps. The 42mm dial variant sports a bold chronograph design whereas 46mm dial model is suitable for people with bigger wrists. This watch is quite similar to the Huawei Watch GT2 in terms of looks and basic functionality.

Specifications & Features

The smartwatch runs on Huawei’s proprietary Lite OS making it suitable for International markets as well. It is powered by advanced Huawei’s Kirin A1 chipset and supports 15 fitness modes required for running, cycling, rowing and triathlons. Other beneficial features include TruSeen, TruRelax and TruSleep. TruSeen monitors your heart rate and will alert on detection of any irregular pattern or problem. TruRelax monitor stress levels and suggests breathing exercises accordingly. TruSleep helps in improving the sleep by monitoring signs of 6 common sleep disorders.

The watch consists of all the usual smartwatch features like taking/making calls (via Bluetooth), notifications, a weather app, a phone finder and even a music player. The watch comes with 4GB of storage which can store around 500 songs that can be played via Bluetooth. The device has a built-in speaker and microphone allowing users to receive phone calls on the go. It can also pair two Bluetooth devices simultaneously allowing users to connect wireless earphones and a smartphone at the same time. In terms of battery, the company claims to offer upto 14 days of use on a single charge for the 46mm variant whereas the 42mm variant will last for a week on charge.

The Honor MagicWatch 2 is priced at CNY 1,099 (approx INR 11,000) for the 42mm variant and CNY 1,199 (approx INR 12,200) for the 46mm variant.
