Oppo Realme 1 launched at Rs 8,990 with FHD+ display, upto 6GB RAM

Chinese mobile manufacturer Oppo is launching its new sub-brand called Realme in Indian market for budget smartphone buyers. The first phone under this brand is Oppo Realme 1 which will give stiff competition to other similar priced phones - Honor 9 Lite, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. It comes under ‘Made in India’ initiative and will be available online exclusively at Amazon India. The first flash sale will be on 12 PM, 25th May. The highest 6 GB variant is priced at Rs 13,990, the 4 GB model has been launched at Rs 10,990 whereas the lowest 3GB variant will cost you Rs 8,990. It is available in three different colours - Diamond Black, Moonlight Silver and Solar Red.

Oppo Realme 1 Specifications

Oppo Realme 1 features a bezel-less 6-inch FHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels providing great viewing experience. It sports a unique design with a diamond shaped pattern on the rear panel. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo customised with the company’s ColorOS 5.0. In terms of performance, it is powered by an octa core MediaTek Helio P60 SoC coupled with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. It is available in multiple variant options - 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage with a dedicated microSD card slot for expansion upto 256GB.

In terms of camera performance, it features a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash and 8MP front facing camera to click selfies and making video calls. To enhance selfie experience, the device supports Oppo’s AI Beauty 2.0 feature. It is backed by a 3410mAH battery which can provide uninterrupted usage for atleast a day. The connectivity options supported include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack. Though it does not sport a fingerprint sensor, it comes with face unlock feature which enables the user to unlock the device in just 0.1 seconds via face.
