Coolpad Dazen1 vs Xiaomi Redmi2 vs Micromax Yu Yuphoria: Which Smartphone to buy under 7k?

Xiaomi entered Indian smartphone market in 2014 with a big flash sale and created a big hype by creating artificial scarcity and selling only online at Flipkart. After Xiaomi's success, many other Chinese and Indian players have entered the budget phone segment as they can foresee a lot of scope in this segment.
Coolpad , a popular smartphone manufacturer in China, is all set to make its debut in India with two budget smartphones – Dazen1 and Dazen X7 in the price range of 6,999 and 12,999 respectively. It has launched Coolpad Dazen1 in India on May 28 with high-end specifications.
After Yu Yureka's phenomenal sucess , Micromax is ready to launch its new budgeted smartphone YU Yuphoria (under its sub brand Yu Televentures) with much better features and looks in competition to Xiaomi phones, that too at an affordable price at Rs. 6,999.
The above three mentioned smartphones are priced at Rs. 6,999 and lets find out which one offers better value for money and specifications.
- Display : Yu Yuphoria and Dazen1 sports 5 inch HD IPS screen display having 294 ppi density whereas Xiaomi Redmi 2 has slightly smaller 4.7 inch display screen offering 312 ppi density. All the three smartphones have same 720x1280 pixel resolution.
Both Yu Yuphoria and Redmi 2 have Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection to protect it from any kind of physical damage or accidental falls whereas Dazen1 lacks this feature. - Design : Coolpad and Xiaomi have a plastic body sporting candy bar design with matte finish whereas Yu Yuphoria comes with a metallic body and a much premium design. The look and build of all three smartphones is quite impressive but the metallic frame of Yu Yuphoria makes it more sturdy and fancy, hence providing it an edge over the other two models.
- Hardware and RAM : Coolpad Dazen 1 and Yu Yuphoria feature identical quad core 64 bit Qualomm Snapdragon 410C processor with a speed of 1.2 GHz frequency along with 2 GB DDR3 RAM and an Adreno 306 Graphic Processor unit. Xiaomi Redmi 2 supports similar processor but lacks in RAM as it offers only 1 GB RAM. Yu Yuphoria has best intermal memory storage of16 GB amongst the three smartphones, whereas other two have 8 GB inbuilt storage.
- Operating System and Battery : Both Xiaomi Redmi 2 and Coolpad Dazen 1 are powered by Android 4.4 KitKat OS, along with their respective homemade user interfaces. Yu Yuphoria runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system which is more interactive and has more advantages and useful utilities above the Kitkat OS. Dazen 1 provides best battery backup having battery of 2500mAH while other two have similar battery backups having 2200mAh and 2230mAh capacities.
- Camera : All three smartphones feature 8MP autofocus primary camera with LED flash. Yu Yuphoria and Dazen 1 have a 5MP front camera, whereas Redmi 2 offers an inferior 2MP camera. They click decent images even in low light conditions.
Our Opinion : Given the metallic body with impressive design, twice inbuilt storage, RAM and the advanced operating system, Yu Yuphoria is a winner and have an edge over the other two smartphones at a breathtaking price of Rs. 6,999. However, Redmi 2 and Dazen 1 are also decent smartphones for this price range.
